Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) provides innovative leadership and career development programs to students interested in business administration, management, finance and information technology careers.  FBLA is the largest student business organization in Nebraska with over 5,300 members.  

Come to an informational meeting on November 12th, during lunch in Mrs. Connell's room, to learn about the opportunities of joining FBLA.

Students in grades 7-12 who have taken or are currently enrolled in a business or information technology course are eligible to join FBLA.

Leadership Opportunities!
Learn to lead through FBLA's multi-level leadership program.  Coordinate chapter projects and activities.  Serve as a chapter, state, regional or national officer.

Conferences!
Participate in the Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference and State Leadership Conference.  Travel to the National Fall Leadership Conference and National Leadership Conference held in major cities across the country.

As a staff for bully prevention month we were asked to do 4 activities with our classes about bullying.  For my digital media class I had them create a bulletin board about bullying.  The students came up with the idea and then made the vampire and colored it.  They then used my Cricket to made the letters and the spiders.  The spiders have tips to prevent bullying.  I thought they were very creative and did a wonderful job of incorporating Bully Prevention Month and Halloween.  

The next activity that I had the students do was to create a poster about bullying.  They were able to work on this project in pairs or individually.  I thought the students did a great job of coming up with some unique posters.  

The third activity I did was to have the students create a cartoon.  They were to portray a character bullying someone and also some characters explaining why it isn't nice.  They were able to work in groups again for this project.  The students had a good time doing this project because is showed them another avenue of digital media.  Here is an example of one of the projects.  I also had my younger elementary computer classes do this activity and they also really enjoyed it because they got to do it on the iPads.  It was fun watching them work together to come up with a skit.
